BOTOX® Cosmetic

Juvederm | Naperville | Wheaton | Lombard | Carol StreamWhen you smile, laugh, frown, or look puzzled, you contract the muscles of your face. Over time, these contractions produce permanent furrows and deep wrinkles in the skin, especially around the eyes and mouth, between the eyebrows, and on the forehead. These lines can make you look older, sad, angry or tired. BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments can not only prevent you from deepening these lines during natural facial movements, they can also erase these marks of aging, leaving you looking younger and more refreshed.

Radiesse | Lombard | Carol StreamRadiesse® is a synthetic injectable filler that has been FDA-approved to reduce moderate to severe wrinkles, folds and creases around the nose and mouth by augmenting the skin's natural collagen supply. It is a safe, effective and long-lasting alternative to injectable collagen and other dermal fillers for not only smoothing wrinkles but also adding volume and contour to the face for an overall younger, fuller, smoother appearance. With just one or two Radiesse® treatments, you can enjoy a beautiful, natural look that lasts.

Approved by the FDA, Restylane™ is designed to match your skin, smoothing wrinkles, sculpting lips or shaping facial contours. With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane is able to perform for many months in your skin. The most common areas for a Restylane™ treatment are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows) and the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth). When used for lips or facial contouring, Restylane™ will add shape and volume to the area. Restylane™ is able to create volume under your wrinkles, which are then lifted up and smoothed out.

Topical or injectable anesthesia may be used during this procedure to numb the treatment area and minimize any potential discomfort.  The results of this procedure are available right away and can usually last for up to a year, the longest results available from any hyaluronic acid product.

Dysport | Naperville | Wheaton | Lombard | Carol StreamDysport is an FDA-approved injection used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles in the forehead. Similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport is injected directly into the site of wrinkles to prevent the underlying muscles from contracting. Dysport injections are made from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, the same protein used in BOTOX® injections.

Dysport injections are ideal for nearly anyone wishing to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face and restore a younger, more refreshed appearance. The injections are administered directly into the facial muscles that cause frown lines and other wrinkles; these injections are generally painless, with no need for anesthesia. Treatment sessions typically take less than 15 minutes, and results usually last three months.

Photodynamic Light Treatment

Photodynamic Light Treatmentt | Naperville | Wheaton | Lombard | Carol StreamPhotodynamic light treatment is a three-step treatment used to treat mild or serious conditions of the skin through the use of a photosensitizing drug and a light source to activate it. It destroys abnormal cells that cause actinic keratosis, a pre-cancerous condition, and can also minimize pores and reduce oil glands to treat acne, rosacea and some scarring as well.

During the procedure, a topical photosensitizer called Levulan is applied to the skin and left for an incubation period of several minutes to one hour.  Levulan is made of aminolevulinic acid (ALA), a natural substance found in the body.  After incubation, the Levulan is activated with a wavelength light source.  Patients may experience sensations of warmth, tingling, heat or burning during this part of the treatment.  After light activation, the treated area is washed and patients can return home, and most return to work within one to two days after the procedure.

For optimal results, patients may need up to five treatment sessions, depending on the severity of their condition and the aggressiveness of their treatment.  Sessions are spaced two to five weeks apart, and can be continued afterwards to help maintain the initial results of the treatment.
